Vanilla Bean Cordial

1 Fifth Vodka -- * See Note
1 Cup sugar syrup

*if the vanilla beans are shorter than 5-6 inches, use three beans,
otherwise two

*I use Myer's dark Jamaican rum and this is absolutely divine, especially
in a cup of coffee on a cold day

We also add glycerine

Let the beans steep in the vodka for two weeks. Remove the beans and add
the sugar syrup. Shake well and enjoy. I usually scrape the seeds
somewhat (returning the scraped seeds to the rum) before soaking the
beans. This gives a little more intense vanilla flavor.
