Apple Nut Squares

Title: Apple Nut Squares

3 Eggs
1 1/2 c Sugar
1 tb Vanilla
1 1/2 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
3 ts Baking powder
3 c Apples;unpared, cored; cubed
1 1/2 c Walnuts; coarsely chopped
Whipped cream; if desired

Beat eggs until foamy; add sugar gradually, continuing to beat until
mixture is thick and lemon colored. Add vanilla. Mix flour, salt and baking
powder. Blend into egg mixture. Fold in apples and walnuts. Turn into
greased and floured pan. Bake in 13X9-inch pan for 30-40 min at 350 deg or
until tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cut into squares. Serve
warm or cold as a bar cookie or with whipped cream as a dessert.
